Introduction to the PicoScope 7 Waveform Library

In this video, Ben Martins from the Pico Technology Automotive team introduces us to the new Waveform Library. In it, Ben explains what the library is, how it can help you and how to use it.

The PicoScope 7 Waveform Library is a free online storage mechanism where you can back up all your waveforms and access them from any PC anywhere and anytime. In addition, you can search the reference waveforms uploaded by other users to compare against your own captures and help you make a diagnostic pass/fail decision.

Pico GmbH celebrates its 5th anniversary!

On 22nd November 2017, we formally launched Pico Technology GmbH to build a stronger presence inside Germany and the EU. Pico recognised that the strength of the Vehicle Manufacturers in Germany, and the size of the market for Automotive workshop equipment including PicoScope.

Although we only made our public launch event in November, this was an endeavour that had taken more than 6 months to complete from approval of our plan to open an office in Germany. The Articles for Pico Technology GmbH were signed and completed on 30th June, and Olaf Jensen officially joined on 1st July 2017.

At the same time as opening GmbH, our most recently launched Automotive Oscilloscope was the PicoScope 4225, and our software was PicoScope 6!

So much has since changed; we've even had an appearance on German primetime television! The success of Pico GmbH reflects a determination to position Pico Technology for continued growth as customers, technology and regulations require us to adapt to better meet their needs.

Case study: Hitachi Zaxis 470 | Lack of power

Have you ever been in the position where a customer calls up to say ‘the machine is down on power and we think it’s the hydraulic pumps so can you replace them?’ You respond by saying ‘of course but wouldn’t you rather we look at it first?’ ‘No, just price it up, it needs to be fixed.’

Approaching the machine, it could only be described as something that resembled a prehistoric animal. Its sole purpose in life is to crush large pieces of concrete as it tears down buildings. It has had a hard life but according to the owner, he can’t buy anything else that matches this machine's performance which is why it is important to find out what is going on and keep it going.

Our case study, focusing on the Hitachi Zaxis 470, has been newly updated for PicoScope 7 Automotive. Check out the full article on our website.
