Using the wrong fuel, mistaken maintenance, and engine overheating can force a diesel car into a garage for investigation and repair. This Hyundai Porter 2 had a cold start problem, where the engine ran poorly and white smoke was apparent. The previous engineer had changed injectors and the actual engine head, but the problem still occurred…
Here we have another video case study on YouTube with Paul Danner (aka ScannerDanner). In this video Paul investigates a 2003 Ford Expedition 5.4 V8 vehicle. The vehicle has a coil over plug system, and has a misfire and P0356 trouble code. Motor Age magazine will be hosting a live webcast on testing engine mechanical health. They’ll be using a PicoScope, WPS500 transducer and a FirstLook tailpipe sensor. The training is offered free, but you need to register. It takes place on May 31st at 8 p.m. Eastern Standard Time (June 1st at 1 a.m. GMT) and is live on the car. This allows the audience to ask questions and participate during the webcast. As with all of the Motor Age webcasts, the recorded session will be uploaded for viewing at a later date.
