"Whilst covering power and torque with a BTEC level 3 group, I decided to try and take a snapshot of what was happening inside the cylinder in order to show what takes place over the full 720° of crank rotation on a single cylinder engine. The waveform shows the basic evidence gathered by the colleges PicoScope unit. The whole assembly was mounted on a Honda CBR 125R and timed so the leading edge of the first tooth and the spark were together in order to more easily reference top dead centre (TDC)..."

This two-day officialPico Technology course introduces the basic working principles of engine management systems, component testing and system diagnostics using oscilloscopes. The course is split between class-based theory sessions, and practical demonstrations in a workshop using the PicoScope Automotive Diagnostics Kit. The two day course includes everything you need to get the best from an oscilloscope. The course runs several times a year around the UK.
