Math channels in PicoScope 7

PS7 Beta 7.0.53 has been released and this month we're focusing on math channels.

New Features:

  • Math Channel Personal Library enables math channels to be saved & recalled for future selection
  • Math Channel creation and editing tools for your personal library
  • Loaded Math Channels can now be saved to your personal library and edited accordingly

You can find more information and a short video describing the new features here.

Bug Fixes:

  • Various bug fixes have been included to ensure stable functionality across all platforms
  • PicoScope files will now load and display as saved. (If a file is saved with multiple viewports and zoom active, the file will reopen and display in the exact same format as it was saved.)

If you want to check out the new features or start using PicoScope 7 Automotive for the first time, you can download the latest version of the software from our downloads page.

Renault Zoe | Warning message

Technology is changing at a relentless pace, presenting challenges to technicians worldwide. For those who are not brand-specific, diagnosing anything and everything, these challenges are beyond consuming. The following case study is one such example. I would like to share the hurdles I had to be overcome when I attempted to diagnose a Renault Zoe with virtually zero product knowledge.

New forum section – Heavy Duty and Off Highway

There's a new section on our forum! We know that there's more to life than just cars, so we've set aside this new space for technicians to discuss all the other vehicles and machines that PicoScope can help diagnose. This includes medium to heavy-duty vans, trucks, tractors, forklifts, construction equipment and even industrial engines.

We want to support both new and advanced PicoScope users, and hopefully speed up the diagnostic process for everyone. Feel free to post any questions or solutions you might have, and lets to help the Pico community support each other!

Why not start by checking out this thread about Smart sensors?

NVH microphones

Customer complaints of noise (e.g. transmission whine and brake squeal) require the addition of a microphone in order to capture and display the frequencies relevant to the customer's concern.
In this forum post, Steve Smith explains how to set up your NVH microphones for the different interfaces.

Current clamp settings explained

Phil Rutt is explaining how to use our current clamps and what the different settings are.
