Re: Serial Decoding output to ASCII or BLF format

Hi Ben, Exactly! Actually in theory it shouldn't be that complicated to convert the .csv file into the ascii format, it just needs the columns shuffling correctly. Maybe a simple batch file might do the trick. Vector CANalyzer has a few options for converting traces, but it won't convert a .csv file...

Re: Battery Test - Voltage Dip Limiter

Hi Ben, I've attached a current measurement of the voltage dip limiter in action. Technically we could quite easily remove the control connection to this device. I would assume there is no way around this through the measurement software, so perhaps it's just worth writing a note to advise people us...

Re: Battery Test - Voltage Dip Limiter

Mercedes-Benz, for the last couple of years.

Designed to prevent voltage fluctuations during cranking. Really simple method and replaces the need for an auxiliary battery.

Would assume therefore that VW Audi and BMW are probably using similar technology.

Battery Test - Voltage Dip Limiter

Hi Guys, This is probably aimed more towards the Pico Technical Staff; Will voltage dip limiters affect the battery test measurement? The voltage dip limiter is a switched series resistor, installed on the starter cable that temporarily (around 100ms) reduces the amount of current delivery by increa...

Re: Serial Decoding output to ASCII or BLF format

Or if the software cannot do it, a separate software converter would be very handy. :-)

Really really would love this feature!

Thanks

Re: Long Term Current Clamp Measurement

Hello Ben, Thanks for the feedback, I had tried a method of using the battery sensor as a current shunt but unfortunately the resistance is just too small for their to be significant amount of voltage drop when doing quiescent measurements (at least within the picoscopes min voltage ranges). It does...

Long Term Current Clamp Measurement

Hi Guys, Wondered if any of you have had to perform long term measurements with a current clamp and run into battery life issues? How have you worked around the battery life of the current clamps? Do you provide an external power supply? Can the current clamps accept a 12V supply? I see only around ...

Serial Decoding Wildcard

Hi Guys, Anyone know how to search for a wildcard in the Serial Decoding table. For example I want to search for all CAN frame IDs starting with 5. However when I do this I receive every CAN frame ID containing a number 5. I tried many ways i.e. 5XX 5** etc. etc. but to no avail. Appreciate if anyon...

Sample Rate Limiting

Hi Guys, Is there any way to improve the efficiency of the sample rate when capturing digital signals. For example, digital input oscilloscopes required only very low sample rates to capture a clean waveform i.e. CAN bus. That way we can spread the memory depth over many more screens. What I don't w...
