EGR stepper feedback / waveform

Toyota Yaris 07 Had 3 new EGR valves, latest one is a Denso, none lasted more than a few months. These use a stepper motor. I can bidirectionally control it and see that the feed back does not match the required position once it gets above 11 steps actual position starts to jump around, fault sets a...

Re: Repeated crashes Crank (A,36) idle

Ahh so it did get better then break again - thought it was my imagination!

Downloaded EA for the Windows machine and yes it works on that.
Now if I could just get the WFL back on my Linux machine ... :D

Re: Crankcase pressure waveform

I don't see a scale on that, but I would hazard a guess at a sticky vent valve/PVC.

Re: Repeated crashes Crank (A,36) idle

Confirmed still crashing on Windows with Crank,60, saved just the 1 screen to keep size down.
Actually P7 crashed the moment I opened it on Windows - though Windows just did an update so it has probably broken something - as if that never happens

Re: Repeated crashes Crank (A,36) idle

Hi Still having the same crash issue using the Crank command - though I think it may have returned having gone away. It was repeatable on Windows on the saved file, but worked OK on my Linux desktop with the EA installed. Frequency (A) worked OK but not as good obviously. It is one of the most usefu...

Re: 4425A glitch on HV ?

Lot to take in there. Thanks Steve. Yes there was a flash of something yellow but too quick to read. A was the output side of the relays on + and -ve relays, B was battery side of those relays. So both grounds on the same HV -ve but on either side of the relay. From your explanation I am assuming th...

Re: Piezo injector current - Bad ECU or...

thanks Iver I have "inhaled" and stored the ECU coding on a Maxysis ready to download back to it - however there is some doubt if that covers the immo coding so yes may have to clone. Injector removal will be down to the garage that is my customer. They have a specialist they use. Lots of scoping go...

Re: Filtering

Select the channel, then the tab labelled DSP and it's there

If you select the Display tab you can type over the channel name which is very useful

Same but different, 2.2 Jag

Used the same technique today on a 2.2 Diesel Duratorq engine in a Jag. It had an occasional "hiccup" on idle and hesitation on acceleration and a long hard start esp when cold. These CR engines only have an inlet metering valve - IMV / flow metering valve on the HP pump. It is a normally open syste...
