Been playing with a KA this morning which won't start no spark on 1 and 4 checked the wiring back to ecu and its good so i need to check the coil drivers. Live to coil is good.
Having very little experience with my pico i don't want to damage a the car or b the scope so need a little help with connection.
If scoping at the ecu terminals for the negative switching on the coil do i need an attenuator?
Should i expect a primary wave form?
thanks
ecu end as its easier to get too
and its the ecu that does the switching which is what i want to see.
Pretty sure the ecu is fudged anyway as i have no spark on 1+4 and spark drops out on 2+3.

I am well aware the PCM controls the coil, if you have volt drop between there & the coil you won't see it scoping at the PCM will you & then you would scope both ends !
Scoping at which end depends on inputs/outputs, you're obviously not aware of that ??
Did you check the wire from the ignition coil and back to the PCM with a DMM and if it's the case, what readings do you get ?
I would suggest, that you make a resistance test from the fuse through the ignition coil and back to the PCM, just to rule out any parasitic drains to ground or any open circuit.
