Hi ALL, Im new here and thinking of getting a Pico automotive scope, what put me off before is time, my OTC handheld scope, switch it on and used it the Pico means booting laptop and connecting everything, I know that only takes a few mins but as they say time is money. The scope im using at the mo is ok but im not happy with it due to the fact I cant zoom in on saved screen to look in more detail, does the Pico allow you to freeze the screen and zoom right in ??
PicoScope can be deployed in many different ways. Many make a dedicated cart of some kind so that the PC is there on standby along with all the leads and everything ready to go. Zero waiting.
If you would like to see some of the many creative deployments take a look here:
I lot of my work is mobile except the big jobs thay go to the workshop, the lappy comes with me in the van, leaving it on standby will just flatten the battery quicker than if its off
I know a few guys that are mobile & it doesn't present a problem for them. I am sure the positives out way the negatives, but it depends on your own circumstances & preferences. I am workshop based & I too get annoyed when my laptop battery dies. I try to make sure it is plugged in as often as possible, but inevitably it sometimes gets overlooked.
For my money though, I wouldn't be without Pico & the benefits that the tool delivers.
