A friend is having trouble with his astra H. 1.9cdti engine Z19DTH
He has been getting intermittent limp mode, and reports the ABS light and TC lights come on at the same time as engine MIL.
I've tested the car a few times myself, but have not been able to get it to fault during my testing.
First time I plugged in, there where absolutely no stored codes in ECM, with TEXA, opcom, autel, EOBD, nothing.
After the next time it went wrong I got, P1120 AND P1122 from ECM. Along with C0237 AND C0242 from ABS.
I'm having difficulty nailing down the correct description for P1120 AND P1122, Op-com says APP sensor, but other sources are saying TPS.
Has anybody got a 100% accurate description?
Thanks
Thanks GRUSS, good to hear from somebody who has had the same fault. I'm a little reluctant to put a new APP unit on the car, as the fault is so intermittent. Sometimes weeks between occurances. Was this the case with your job or was it a permanant fault?
This one I had was also very intermittent, a couple of other techs looked at it previous to me and the dtcs were always stored not present.
When I first checked it out I couldn't fault the APP. I checked connections at the Ecu (near side under front bumper) then jumped the signal(s) with the 5v ref feed(s) and scoped the signals (both fixed at 5v) while I moved the harness about to check for any dropouts.
It then came back before Xmas with the em light on, signal 2 voltage was fixed low on live data. I scoped signal 2 and that's when I found the drop outs.
Other things to check are for any remaps and sport button dtcs/faults
Thats encouraging then. I will most probably get an APP unit for it. He did mention that the second time it happened he had just pressed the sport button, gave it a good few presses on and off during my test drive. Fault refused to show though. what is the significance of sport button?
