Compatible scopes

Postby red » Fri Jul 15, 2011 8:43 pm

Hi,

Does PicoDiag only work with auto-specific Picoscopes? Wondered whether I can use it with my 2204.

Dear Red

Thank you for your forum post.

You are correct, the Pico Diagnostic Software as well as the Automotive PicoScope Software will only operate on the Automotive Oscilloscopes which are as follows:-

3223 Automotive Scope
3423 Automotive Scope
4223 Automotive Scope
4423 Automotive Scope

I hope this helps to answer your question

Kind Regards

Thank you Lee, understood. Despite having a "non automotive" Picoscope, I have nevertheless been able to use it with success in automotive fault-finding. For instance I hooked it up to a current clamp meter that has a voltage output and recorded the cranking current to help understand loss of compression in one cylinder. I also reckon I could use the serial decoding to 'sniff' the CANBus if necessary.
