Old School

Post by Dan426 »

Hi everyone, my name is Dan. I am new to the newer automotive scope systems. The last time I used a oscilloscope was in the mid 80s it was called an Allen Scope and it was bigger than my MAC toolbox. Im looking for help setting up my 2000 series 4 channel scope and where to apply the leads to to get what signals, kind of like a beginner...lol

Hi Dan, welcome to the forum and thank you for the introduction

When I read Allen Scope I could not resist

I don't think this is the 1980's workshop device you mentioned but the fact there is a "Oscilloscope Museum" has me fascinated

Re your 2000 series scope, could you take a look here at the device limitations before you get going

The Guided Tests (GT's) in our PicoScope automotive software are perfect for taking that first measurement and becoming familiar with set-ups and configuration

Unfortunately, the 2000 series scope will not run on the Automotive Software, you can however refer to the GT's here https://www.picoauto.com/library/automo ... ided-tests

Further information on using the Auto Scopes can be found in the links below

I would strongly recommend browsing through the Newsletter Archive too

The PicoScope Training App: iOS/Android can be found here

I hope this helps, take care.......Steve
