I would like to show you the MAP signal recording dI would like to show you the MAP signal recording of my boat engine (gasoline, electronics). What worries me is that the signal immediately goes up to 4.2v from the start, and stabilizes at this value (very close to the maximum 5v). What do you think of my signal? Thank you very much and have a good weekend!
Great thanks !!!

Yeah, there are a few but I can’t afford a boat. And have no clue what engine is in yours. How would you realistic expect someone to know the map values of an unknown engine?
Manage your expectations different?
Hi.
.
If we are talking about a simple analog MAP sensor, then the first thing to check is whether there is a stable power supply to the sensor.
There should be a good grounding, and a stable power supply of + 5 volts.
In your example, apparently there is no good grounding, or the common wire of the oscilloscope is incorrectly connected, which is why there is a negative voltage on the signal wire.
The sensor can be checked by turning on the ignition and applying a discharge to it .
When switching from atmospheric pressure to vacuum, the sensor must change the potential from high to low.
Hello Vasek thank you very much for this answer, very very interesting. I will make new measurements by also checking the mass, we will see if I get the same results. Yes the sensor is an analogic classic.
- do you use a vacum to apply the discharge ?
Thanks again
Nico
