Hi,
I have read the tutorial and have watched a few videos but I cant work out how to get the crank maths channel for the attached waveform. It is from a Landrover 2.5 TD5 engine and I am trying to check for an engine misfire at initial startup, channel 1 is the ckp and channel 2 is injector no.2 and the firing order is 1-2-4-5-3, Here are the problems I am experiencing;
Is my timebase/ capture even correct?
2. The crankshaft only appears to have 15 teeth?
3. When I apply a maths channel I cant see any slowing down of RPM.
I know this has been covered many times but could someone look at it and explain it to me on this waveform as I am really confused
Thanks
I fail to see what you posted in Picoscope 6 area and not in Diagnostic discussion.
Freq(A) match channel will not give you anything useful due to multiple gaps in the crankshaft pulse tone ring.
If you have an endoscope camera, have a look for the tone ring, but won't solve anything about the misfire.
I am not sure but I believe the crankshaft position sensor runs in this area of the flywheel. Never seen anything like it. Really awkward.
