Re: PicoScope 7 Automotive Software

Thanks, Steve. PS7 is really taking shape; it’s time I bit the bullet and abandoned my PS6 comfort zone for good. I’m really pleased that Frequency Coupling has been changed to Frequency Counting: “coupling” always made me feel there was something I hadn’t quite grasped, especially as it was listed ...

Re: Low current measurements with a BNC+ high current clamp

Digging around, I think I’ve found the answer in a pdf giving advice on how to choose a current clamp. https://www.chauvin-arnoux.com/sites/default/files/documents/chauvin-arnoux-current-clamps-catalogue.pdf “ 1. Determine if you are measuring AC or DC (DC current clamps are categorized as AC/DC bec...

Re: Test leads and dual banana female jack to male BNC adapter

Thank you very much, Kim. What an excellent, helpful post. That is certainly something I’m going to look at, although my current clamp has a BNC connector. I deliberately did not buy any clamps with banana connectors because of the possibility of problems with any interface. But I do need to look at...

Article on PicoScopes in Jan 2021 Car Mechanics Magazine

Forum members are probably the last people who might want to read an article on PicoScope - preaching to the converted etc - nevertheless, Rob Marshall has written the lead, 11-page, article on oscilloscopes in the latest Car Mechanics magazine (January 2021). Naturally, it’s all about the PicoScope...

Re: Editing the waveform?

Many thanks for putting in a feature request for Maths Channels between rulers, that really would be good. A couple of years ago you had to put me right when I ran into problems trying to differentiate or integrate - may well have been both - because of ares of the waveform with no data. Maths Chann...

Re: Low current measurements with a BNC+ high current clamp

Steve, I’ve just been badly let down by my high amperage current clamp, a Hantek CC650 (https://www.picoauto.com/support/topic22448.html). I know: serves me right. So I’m looking to replace it with quality hardware. I know that Pico’s BNC+ hardware is not compatible with my 4425 or 4823, but can you...

Current Clamp Problems

I’ve been using a Hantek CC-650 current clamp to measure welding current. So the answer probably is , “serves you right, there’s your problem: cheap Chinese rubbish”. And that might be the case, but I wonder if there’s any other reason why my results are skewed as if there’s an inconsistent DC Bias....

Re: Editing the waveform?

Did I read somewhere that there is (or will be) a feature to allow highlighting parts of the waveform and then deleting that section? I think I must be mistaken because this would create null data and discontinuities which could really mess up maths channels, unless it were possible to set maths ch...
