Re: Compression K9K-702 1.5DCI

Hi Tronic, The technical data I have advises a compression ratio of 18.3.1, this equates to approx 18 bar. I disagree. Compression pressure should be higher than compression ratio. It also depends of additional volume measuring tool has. With WPS I usually measure measure 22-23 bar (18:1 engine) an...

Re: Volvo V70 - MY 2000 Immobiliser Fault

The immobilizer transmits the VIN code to the engine control module (ECM) at start attempt. I disagree. It does so at Terminal 15 Switch on, not before or after. From what I have measured. Maybe. This is a quote from service manual. And it depends what someone defines start attempt to be. Anyway th...

Re: Volvo V70 - MY 2000 Immobiliser Fault

To be precisce this car is MY1999 and not MY2000. It doesn't change much but still. And there is a typo in that VIN. first letter shoulb be Y not V ECM-720A This diagnostic trouble code (DTC) indicates that the configuration between the engine control module (ECM) and the immobilizer does not corres...

Re: Compression testing using the WPS500 Pressure Transducer

The WPS500x internal volume = 5 ml, Steve, Where does this value come from? So far I have used 1,5 ml in my calculations. I got this value using syringe method. Can you confirm that 5ml is indeed correct and therefore it's not possible to measure it correctly with syringe? I rechecked it and still ...

Re: Monitoring coolant pressure with a sensor

Nice capture but no clue what cylinder causes issue. I understand that this car has multiple cylinder issue but usually this is not the case.

Re: Ford Smart Charging System

Can I ask you guys who test these alternator systems regular, can you vary the output from the alternator by somehow varying the command from the ECM? Or is it just a case of running the engine at a fast idle and varying the loads by switching on more current demand from accessories? Thanks With Vo...

Re: Ford Smart Charging System

Did I understand correctly that "PID that shows Generator/Alternator voltage set point (v) recorded 13.2" means requested voltage by control module? Yes the PID shows Generator/Alternator voltage (v) as 13.2 Still confused. Does it mean measured voltage or requested voltage (command to alternator)?

Sorry no I did not check Ford ETIS, I didn't think Ford would produce that information on ETIS.
Only one way to find out if that information is available at ETIS.

Re: Ford Smart Charging System

Did you check for correct information in Ford ETIS? For Volvo Smart Charge systems at +40C battery temperature voltage has to be between 13,27V and 14,07V. Higher temperature lowers voltage and vice versa. Did I understand correctly that "PID that shows Generator/Alternator voltage set point (v) rec...
