Vauxhall ABS Sensor

Hello I work as a college lecturer and regularly make training rigs to use in class. I recently made an inductive ABS sensor rig which is brilliant for using in class. We got given some parts from a 2011 Astra so I built another rig. These have the latest sensors on them so I knew I had to wire it u...

Laptop

Hello I'm wondering has anyone ran a Picoscope with a fairly new laptop that the screen can come away from the actual laptop base. These normally run Windows 8 so the screen is normally touch screen. I'm looking for a netbook or laptop and liked the idea of having the screen away from the car while ...

K110 MicroProbe

Hello I have put a couple of posts up in the past, I work as a lecturer and try to teach students how to use Pico Scope. We have struggled to check the new ABS Sensors and Mass Air Flow sensors, this is due to the fact that the current readings are so low. As a department we want to buy something th...

AC Coupling

Hello I work as a college lecturer and trying to get students to make the most out of using our Picoscope. My question relates to ABS, we get the students to do all the basic checks using a meter. We then get them using the scope. While using the scope to check a Renault Scenic ABS sensor we struggl...

VW Rear Bulbs

Hello This is not exactly to do with a Picoscope but I hope to use the scope once I understand how the system works. Many new cars are using a single filament bulb on the rear, it does the rear light and brake light. I remember being told that these bulbs are controlled by Duty Cycle (or OCR) I unde...

Universal Breakout Leads

Hello Not sure if this is in the right place, and I hope I don't upset Pico. I work as a college lecturer and teach students how to use Pico Scope. We have around 14 cars within our workshop and the students are having lots of fun trying to scope crankshaft sensor, mass airflow sensor as well as any...

Coolant Temperature Sensor

Hello Just a quick question, why does a coolant temperature sensor have a second resistor within the Engine ECU which isn't a variable resistor. I know the sensor is supplied with 5 volts and the other wire is earth back to the engine ECU so that will make a complete circuit. As the sensor begins be...

Re: how to analyse my lambda sensor waveform ?

Hello

I use a Mac on a daily basis and cannot open PSD files, could someone place the scope patterns on the forum in a different format.

Sorry to be a pain but very interested in seeing the scope patterns.

Thanks Pete

Lambda Sensors

Hello My question this week is about Lambda Sensors, I know how they both work and what patterns you get and how to interpret them. What I would like to know is why a lambda sensor fluctuates between rich and lean. I know it might seem a daft question but really cannot understand if an engine is at ...
