Re: Sensor signal

So I can better understand your question, are you asking how fast the electrons are moving along the conductor?

Thanks.

Re: oxygen sensor query

Can you verify with an exhaust gas analyzer that the trim adjustment "worked"?

Re: siemens piezo injectors

I'm not sure I understand your issue. Have you tried scoping them previously and are not content with the patterns captured? Are you scoping to learn or to diagnose, in other words: Is this car broke? Are you looking to scope voltage or current? All the piezo's I've seen are switched both on power a...

Has this been the only vehicle you've tried the COP probe on with no success? I'm not directly familiar with Renault's, but it is quite possible that the coils are just shielded that well. I've noticed it most, personally, on VW's where the COP probe will not output a usable signal. HTH. Later, Matt.

I wouldn't look at it as being analysis in the context of making a diagnosis so much as analysis in the form of learning to interpret what you are seeing and what/where you can use this tool reliably on. FirstLook is one of a kind and offers a very unique way of looking at "pressure" (yes technicall...

By all means please post up your patterns. The best way to learn what "good" is versus "bad" is doing exactly what you are doing. Start out with "good" vehicles though, don't start out right away looking at broke vehicles. Post up your findings and we'll work on how to dissect them. Thanks! Later, M...

If that's in the exhaust, that FLS pattern looks upside-down to me.

I suspect you are getting tripped up by the fact that you are seeing the waste-spark patterns in your ignition waveform.

Re: FIRSTLOOK SENSOR WAVEFORM

Hi, I am sorry I am new to using labscope. I recently bought the FLS. I connected to my 98 Beetle and got the waveform. However, I have no idea what the waveform mean. I triggered with the 4th cyl spark plug wire because it is the easiest one to access but it seems the pulse from the FLS was not sy...

I suspect the reasoning has a lot to do with the wide variety of strategies used to actuate the injector(s). Some operate on 5 volts, others over 100.

HTH. Later, Matt.

Could you please elaborate as to what type of sensors you speak of? When the sensors are in the vehicle, they are receiving (presumably) the correct "power" and "ground" required for operation as well as any mechanical input. You would have to mimic those inputs both electrically and mechanically (i...
