Charlie, In the United States, removal or rendering an emission control device useless is illegal and considered "tampering". I'm not sure if this applies to you or not. http://www.epa.gov/otaq/regs/roadbike/420f03045.pdf (page 4) Also, you need to keep the Lambda Sensor for fuel control feedback re...

COP Probe

Hi Michael, I have a few questions about the Probe if you don't mind. Do you find that the voltage amplitude is somewhat accurate? Should the tip of the Probe be placed perpendicular or parallel to the coil? Based on the scaling used in your capture, this appears to have 10,000:1 attentuation. Corre...

In addition to Ric's very good recommendation, may I suggest another option? What I use often is a wireless presentation mouse. Set your cursor arrow over the go/stop button. Use your wireless mouse anywhere within a reasonable proximity. This will allow you to start and stop the ADC acquisition fro...

Hi Naveen,

Good luck with your project. Is there anything in particular you are interested in with COP ignition? Do you need manufacture specific data or would general be ok? If you could give us an outline of your goals, that would be helpful.

Hi Tegas,

Can you provide a little more information on the system you are working with? As I understand it, you want to measure HC conductivity. Are you trying to accomplish flame supervision?

Regards,

Hi Brian, Why don't you use the scope on the road? I'm not sure what else to say. I simply don't need to roadtest any vehicle that requires a scope to diagnose the problem. I find intermittents in my bay that require it for close examination of the signal or signals. Certainly using the PicoScope is...

Hi Tom,

I wasn't aware of many COP systems that primary voltage wasn't accessible except some IDI or Cassette units. However, the secondary on these can be accessed via HT jumper leads. GM CNP primary isn't available, but of coarse secondary is.

Would you have an example?
