Re: P1342 Ford Transit Throttle Pedal Circuit Fault.

A very BIG THANK YOU to Martyn for moving the post, and to tangoman and Fioranocars for posting your replies and including diagrams, it is very much appreciated. I have printed the information from both of you to help me work through the fault. A couple of things to say; The van has been driven agai...

P1342 Ford Transit Throttle Pedal Circuit Fault.

Hi guys, I have a Transit 2003 (ABFA) that intermittently raises its own idle speed to approx 1500 rpm, when I turn off the engine and restart the idle speed is normal again. I have carried out a code read to receive the code above and completed a road test with the scanner connected to record some ...

Re: Buying a PICO 4 channel scope

Thank you Phil and Picokev for your replies. I may not have worded my post correctly but I think Phil understood about the 8 channel scope I was referring to, I was not initially sure how many were available, sorry about that Picokev. So Phil, this kit 355 77 1430 from ECP, is it the 4425 ? Can I us...

Buying a PICO 4 channel scope

Currently I have a two channel snap on Vantage scope, but I now want to update to a four channel, I know PICO have a mixer that will allow something like 6 or more channels but I have been advised its not for automotive use. The problem here now is that this kit is advertised in Workshop Solutions v...

Re: NVH kit accelerometer

Thank you for the continued feedback with this post its all good stuff. For some reason when this post began I had it in my head that we could look at belt tension whilst running as part of routine service. Steve, a few notes... It would appear after entering specific details about the belt (Includ...

Re: NVH kit accelerometer

Steve, I'll have a look at my old Gates electronic timing belt tool which I bought from them some 15 years ago, it cost me if I remember correctly about £750 + Vat at the time, Gates advised back then that anyone who bought this electronic belt tension tool who experienced an engine fail because of ...

Re: Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) Generator

Also, if you have time/know the answer, would the above PIC PWM example be able to directly drive a 20amp fan/60amp whatever, or would some other "upscaling" be needed to cope with the the load? thanks Richard Richard, It's not the only tool you'll need, but invest in the Power Probe Hook and a lot...

Re: Renault Espace 4 Can Bus

The Network looks poor, I am assuming that you have checked the resistance of the Power Train BUS?
A reading of approximately 60 Ohms should be recorded.

Where any U Codes recorded?

Re: NVH kit accelerometer

Not sure if this will help. The Pico Diagnostics NVH Kit from Pico Technology is the cost-effective answer to the many NVH problems facing technicians today. Providing real-time diagnosis to the technician in the form of either: a bar graph, a frequency chart, a 3D frequency chart , RPM order or roa...

Re: Vauxhall Astra G Continuation

The reason I never asked was because I said I used TECH II, and even then when TECH II was connected with a second power supply under cranking conditions the scanner would not read data without interruption. It appears that TIS instructions are not without their faults either and scoping this none s...
