Re: Focus intermittant no start CAN BUS

An interesting question and something I had pondered before. Your question got me doing some research/googlenostics (which is always a good way to go) The answer really is to do the googlenostics yourself as there is no one simple answer. Ringing, overshoot and undershoot will all give results. It a...

Re: Capcha

Any solutions yet? On this thread today https://www.picoauto.com/support/topic16291.html I was unable to quote Martyn and add a comment as it would take me to a 'Capcha'. I completed the task that proved that I was more than likely not a robot, or at least one with an exceptable amount of AI. But wh...

Re: non pico high current clamp

Isn't the Pico 600 clamp (TA019) and that fluke both the same - 1mv = 1A ? Just use the preset already there?

Martyn wrote:Tools->CustomProbes and create a New Probe using the equation for your clamp, 1 mV = 1 A if that is the correct one, and you will have a shiny new preset specifically for this device.

Re: Scope hiding voltage drop??

But here we have 4 ignition coils that can not operate because their path to Ground / Earth is paralysed by high resistance / Open circuit at a Common Ground Point "F15" A coil may pull 5 amps but I very much doubt the problem is in the coil circuit (although I did incorrectly use that terminology ...

Re: Scope hiding voltage drop??

This does not come as a total surprise, I had heard something like this is possible but this is the first time I have heard of it actually having an effect. I did a lot of my training using Tiepie scopes and the class was set up with about a dozen students each with an individual scope/lappy that co...

Re: NMEA 2000 or J1939 example wanted

Thanks Kev.

I'll have a look there on the other side. I had by passed it as I doubted I'd get a file compatible for the auto scope.
Thought I may be pushing the NMEA2K on "Help me fix my car" as well, hence J1939 (although not car but at least involves wheels).

Cheers

NMEA 2000 or J1939 example wanted

Not a car needing fixed but............. As the title states, I'm after an example of preferably NMEA 2000 data transmission capture but J1939 will do. It's mainly for a project I want to start to give me a better grounding in CAN data manipulation and understanding of what the data frame is made up...

Re: Hi from Australia

G'day Paul and welcome to the forum. Just left Sydney myself last year (well lower Blue Mountains). There's plenty of good reading and plenty of tips on this site. Regarding the pre sets, try and move away from them when you can. It's all about sample rates (1Ms sec for ignition), time base and buff...
