Re: PWM Actuators.

I use math channel, positive or negative duty cycle applied on voltage waveform channel. Current by current clamp will look usually OK without any math channel and if you use the right scaling, the current will match (overlay) the voltage math channel accordingly. If let's say the actuator has inte...

PWM Actuators.

I know its possible to tell if certain solenoid actuators are working by analyzing the Voltage/current waveforms of it, eg. injectors. But how can the same be done for actuators that work off a PWM signal? If anyone has any methods please let me know.

Re: Stuck Quantity Control Valve

Initially this vehicle wouldnt start and when I first scoped out the Valve it was a very smooth waveform. This was when it was stuck. After reinstalling it, the vehicle started back up. But the waveform is not smooth at all.

Stuck Quantity Control Valve

Here I have 2 waveforms, one from a stuck quantity control valve and the other I took after cleaning the valve and it made it to work again. This is from a Mercedes W212 with om651 engine where the diesel was contaminated and there was still no rail pressure after cleaning the system. Are those irre...

Re: Mercedes M120 Ignition Coil Testing

Hey so I found a faulty ignition coil and got it replaced with a brand new one. Still there's slight misfire but after a scan it shows one whole bank misfiring. I was gonna try using a math channel on the crank signal and figure out which cylinders were actually misfiring, but unfortunately the belt...

Re: Mercedes M120 Ignition Coil Testing

Hi. . You need to connect one channel to a common power supply wire to measure current. There are also two separate channels for the control wires. If there is only one coil per cylinder, it is enough to connect two channels. The first - is measuring the current on the coil power wire. The second -...

Mercedes M120 Ignition Coil Testing

Hey picoscope newbie here, I would like to know how I can test this particular ignition coil design. It seems the ignition drivers are inside the ecu instead of on the COP. Any methods with the basic test leads, I unfortunately do not have the COP probes.
