The single overhead camshaft is located in the cylinder head just below the rocker shafts. There should be a reference mark on the camshaft sprocket for alignment.
If you are trying to check to see if the camshaft is in the proper position in relation to the crankshaft, then do what Tom suggested and check it with your scope while monitoring CKP and CMP signals. If they are timed correctly, you saved yourself tear-down time.
Another technique used by some is the use of a pressure tranducer placed in the combustion chamber. Interpreting those results can be a challenge unless you're real famiiar with it.
