Pico Scope Kits

Post by David Green »

Hi everyone,

I am a new member just joined. I have diagnostic equipment already, i.e. Scanners and Scopes, dual trace, my older units are not automotive design but my latest one is manufacturered by Snap On, it is the Vantage Pro dual scope, which apart from the back lite display not been very good outside is OK for a dual scope, however in saying that I don't think the software coverage is very good, and the Scan Lines back up are most of the time if you need them not readliy available?

Nobody has every given me a bad report about Pico, so I have been looking at these scopes where there are now a few new models and specifications, so my question really is, where do I start with this new Pico equipment because when I buy it I don't want to buy the wrong one??

David,

I would recommend one of the 4000 series automotive scopes. Either the 4223 two channel or 4423 four channel. There are a few kit options to choose from with different accessory packages. These are the best value for the price.

If your budget allows, choose one of the four channel kits. Most who choose the two channel, wish later they had the four when they discover what they can do.

If you are in North America, please give us a call. We have custom extra value packages not available anywhere else.

Hi, thanks for the advice, however I am not in America and I don't remember when joining the forum where the information asked about the origin of a Country to be added, otherwise I would have included it

I am going to have to do some more research and maybe look at a training school (college) that have this type of equipment so I can get some experience with it first, maybe :D

Hi David,

You can download the software from here, see tab at top of page and run it in demo mode to see what it is capable of.
This will give you a good insight as to how powerful a tool it is.
As for support and capabilities nothing comes close.

Also,, the software upgrades are free... :D

Where are you located, if in UK I may know of someone who could perhaps show you a demo.

Regards,
Nige

Hi Nige,

Thanks for the info, much appreciated. I know a college in Yorkshire who have Pico equipment and do electronics courses, but as I am more on the other side of Manchester - Bolton area, I am looking for a trainer/college if poss if those areas, or surrounding areas :D
