Now it's even a bigger challenge to find the root cause for your engine problems when a motor tuner has blurred the whole diagnostic picture with a new mapping of the ecu software.

Now it is said - there are several different diagnostic paths that you could take - I would take a closer look at your air mass sensor as I said before actual and specified data values does not macth each other.

Whether this as something to do with your temperature related engine problems - I dont know, but remember one step at a time.

If the only tools you got is VCDS software, I dont think you going to find the root cause to this problem. You need do some realtime measurement either with a DMM or best - a oscilloscope.

You mentioned - that you have replaced a couple of air mass sensor - what manufactor brand and are they OEM type and what spare partnumber do the present MAF sensor have ?

Last question - is this MAF sensor with digital output ?

Hi, just a thought, but have you checked the cylinder compressions and cylinder leakage? The injector quantity compensation looks a bit off for a new set of injectors (you did code the new injectors to the ECU didn't you?). A mechanical (compression) issue would also make sense regarding the air mass being off too. Might just be worth checking the compression and cylinder leakage first, both with a cold and hot engine before you spend any more money on parts.

I'm no expert and dont know much about diesels, but just as a suggestion. It may be stuck in an open loop. Check if it goes to closed when warm. If doesnt, change lamda?

My casus is about my VW Transporter (2010) 2.0 TDI CR with engine code CAAC. The car was bought 1,5 year ago with 56K and has now 95K km.

The problem is that my car seems to be very outside temperature sensitive. The engine always starts very easy but with higher outside temperatures starts to run rough and noisy and eventually with real high outside temps even starts to misfire.

In the temperature range of 5 degree celcius to 9 degrees celcius the car operates really smooth and has lots of power.
But when the temperatures get above 10 degrees the car starts to run rougher and rougher. With temps above 17 degrees the car starts to make erratic injector noises when you ask torque from the engine by pushing the gas paddle. The engine then seems to have no torque at all under 2000 RPM and starts to shudder when you drive the car under 2100 rpm in 5th gear.

With temperatures above 25 degrees the injectors start to make really a lot of noise and eventually the engine starts to misfire with bad knocking sounds. I'm not really sure if what I call injector sound is not misfiring that starts as ticking sound and eventually with real high outside temperatures becomes knocking.
If I'm understanding correctly, you have changed all the listed parts to solve the problem you advise above!

Please confirm/dismiss, has the vehicle now been fixed?

There is a VW specialist on here when he connects, Grunf1976 I think he is called, and I think he's from India, very knowledgeable on VW. Send him a pm and when he next connects he knows your asking for help.

Good evening Technicians! Unfortunately my transporter is still having the same issues. I didn't look on this forum any more because it was winter time and the car was running pretty OK again because colder outside Temps. Now summer in the Netherlands 🇳🇱 I starting again and Temps are getting above 15/20 degrees again.

So the shitty engine is again missing a lot of torque and making erratic noises again. It really runs rough......

The engine is still not giving any fault codes with VAGCOM. Only thing that broke this winter were two exhaust gas temp sensors. One before the DPF and one after the DPF. Lambda is till original.

Really hope that there is still somebody here with a brilliant idee because this car has costed already to much money in trying to solf this problem.

change the ambient temperature sensor, mine was giving 85 C* high reading where actual temp was 15 causing the engine to run rough, Mine is crafter but had same symptoms like your
Thanks
