Nissan Micra CAM/CKP known good needed

Post by RonMcleod »

Hi guys and gals

I'm looking for a known good CKP/CAM waveform for a Nissan 2007 Micra with a CR14 engine. I have posted the one I have off the vehicle but I cant find a known good waveform.

This Nissan Micra cranks but doesn't start. When you first crank the engine I get 1 or maybe 2 injector pulse and one spark out of the coil.

I was told the only reason the car was in for repair was that the rocker cover was leaking oil, they removed the rocker cover changed the gasket and reassembled it and now it does not start. It has no codes they tried the spare key they also tried a new cam and crank sensor before I got to the job.

Cheers for the help
Ron

This includes the coil trace but because it has no spark it is a flat line

Hi Ron,

Before jumping in with both feet suspecting the correlation I'd be inclined to back tract the previous repairs done elsewhere and then look at valve timing when ignition and fuel are available.

Hi all

I found the problem with this vehicle, it turns out when they did the rocker cover gasket they damaged the cam reluctor. I couldn't get photos because they fixed it and didn't take any photos.

Cheers for the help
Ron

Don't be so sure. This is a Nissan cam capture. Nothing wrong with the setup, cam or sensor.

Hi, don't know about damaged cam reluctor, however here is a good waveform without cam flop which you can see
in the original post and Fat Freddy's pic.

CR14 engine (mentioned in first post) is 1,4 L.

Different engines and even same engines but different years can have different patterns.

Hi, same engines have the same pattern, if not , they are not the same. We are not talking about an identical engine.
