Unable to Save file.

Post by Jake Murphy »

I recently had to restore my laptop to factory. I reinstalled Picoscope 6 (non-automotive). Now whenever I go into File>Save the program freezes. I have to use Task Manager to exit the program. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Picoscope 6. I have removed the registry entries. Done Windows Update. No change. I am using Windows 7. My scope is a Picoscope 2205A. Any help would be appreciated.

We have been seeing this exact scenario quite a few times with the 6.13.6.3775 automotive PicoScope.

Reverting the the previous release fixes it.

With the assistance of the Pico team, in at least one instance it was fixed by deleting the Pico Technology settings folder in the app data/local folder.

Only some (so far only Windows 7) PCs seem to have this issue.

Also do all Windows updates as you have and also check that the dot net framework is also updated.

I could link you to the Automotive one but that won't help you with your scope since you are not using an automotive scope.

I suggest you let the Pico team here investigate this issue with you so they can gather some more data on what is causing this and get your version working. This would also be helpful to others having the same issue.

I removed the appdata\local\picoscope folder. No change.
