Can screen colour setup be exported?

Post by dbrook »

A question from a newbie to Pico.

I prefer a black screen with coloured markers and traces, so have customised the setup to my liking on one of the computers I use, but cannot find any method of exporting or saving the setup so I can transfer it to the other computer. Is there something like the key shortcuts have for saving my custom colours?

Thanks David

Hi,

I'm not sure, but will ask the software team and get back to you.

Hi David,

The colour preferences should be saved to a file called preferences.xml. This file can be found in the same location as the trace.xml file (see section 3 of the PicoScope 6 FAQ).

Try copying the file across to the same folder on the other PC.

This file will also store a custom colour selection.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Hitesh,

David - the trace file (and therefore the preferences.xml) can be found here:

Windows XP:
C:\Documents and Settings\\Local Settings\Application Data\Pico Technology\

Windows Vista, 7, 8 and 10:
C:\Users\\AppData\Local\Pico Technology\

Thanks,

Would be nice for this file to be associate with user name @
Waveform library. With 2 buttons, Save Custom Settings and Load Custom Settings.
That would be nice to solve the settings sync over multiple pcs.

Thanks for the info.

It works quite nicely, and sync’d the folders automatically with software and any changes in one setup reflected nicely in the other computer.
