What is the fuel pressure doing whilst the fault is occurring?

Any chance you have a scanner capable of recording live data?

Take it for a road test at the said speed and then play back the live data and see what circuits are affected ?

Scope crank sensor and sync it to some injector current. And post here.

If possible scope rail pressure over a long period of time with a high sample rate whilst the fault is occurring. I am guessing it will be fluctuating which will indicate a IMV issue. I have seen this fault before on volvos. See if it has 2 regulators on the pump. If it does fluctuate and does have 2 regulators it is usually the regulator under the pump which is difficult to see. I am pretty sure you can only buy that perticular regulator with the pump

I have before and after waveforms. If this is the fault I think it is. Post the waveforms on here so I can take a look

RYM6746 i bealieve you are taking about 2.0D engine. This is 2,4 and does have two regulators but volume regulator is on pump and pressure regulator at fuel rail.

This of course doesn't mean that there could not be something wrong with either of these.

Ahhh yes you are correct that was the 2 litre.

Definitely worth a shot on scoping the fuel pressure whilst fault is occurring.
At the very least, you can at tick it off the list of possibilities
