Hi I have received the newsletter about the release of the new 6.12.5 which looks great, but when I hit the software update button on the laptop it is saying I have the latest software. When I am still running on the previous version? I have seen people on YouTube using the latest software. What am I missing?
6.12.5 Is a Test and Measurement build that is locked to the T&M range of scopes and will not work with the automotive hardware in the same way that the automotive SW will not work on a T&M scope.
Pico very sensibly do this so that the software / hardware is matched / optimised.
There is often crossover between the two platforms but on the whole they are different beasts.
So I am afraid you will need some extra hardware if you specifically want what the T&M software has to offer.
Do you get the Automotive Newsletter as well as the T&M?
Ok thanks very much for your help. I didn't realise there were to different types of software. One for T and M and one for the automotive. I have only just signed up to the newsetter and have probably signed to the T and M newsletter by mistake. I still can't understand how this automotive technician, which I am sure is using the same scope as I am has the nudge button features? https://youtu.be/2h7vuWPaIgM
He is using a Beta build,(top left of the screen -(PicoScope 6 Automotive Beta)
The current stable release is 6.11.12.1692 which I suspect you are using,
The current Beta release the the YouTube guy is using will be 6.12.4.2427. That has morphed into a stable release version that is due for release as Martyn says in the near future. Keep an eye out for the next upgrade and keep in mind that you get all these improvements and innovations for free https://www.picoauto.com/downloads is the place to go for the latest builds.
