Just got your release info on the new 2000 series scopes. Will you be releasing an Automotive version of these as well? I hope so!

Hi,

I am sorry but the answer is no. For automotive use the 8 bit resolution is not enough, the input ranges are too small and the 2000 series misses the floating input protection. The lower cost 2000s also do not have enough memory. All in all the 2000 series is not the right product for automotive use.

Alan

Alan:

Understand, but too bad. The price points would certainly expand scope penetration in the automotive service market, and features like the signal generator, mixed-signal capabilities and more would be very interesting and useful to have.
