Annoying feature - usb cable disconnection

Post by FioranoCars »

We have had a few occasions when immediately post a capture we've had to purposely momentarily or accidentally disconnected the usb cable ... Which leads to the screen clearing the capture.

While I understand the scope is the "dongle" key, viewing is not restricted of a saved buffer, and once it's captured but not saved, there's no harm in allowing the user to view, modify probe settings, save etc ...

Please can you amend this so that the buffer is not lost and it can be saved?

Many thanks

Good post, would be nice if we can just unplug the USB without losing the capture.

I agree. It's very annoying.

Good to know when scope is disconnected but this should not cause waveform to be erased.

Thanks for this guys, I'll pass it to Development as a feature request.

Sadly, we managed to crash Pico today!
We've sent in the crash data report, so you should have that, but seems this thread is started, I'll warn others :!: :!:

The waveform was being saved, the technician got to the Vehicle Details page, decided to check the chassis number, needed to go past the scope so disconnected the bnc's and the usb, then watched in horror as his capture disappeared in the background ... followed by ... PICO (disappearing!) ... then a crash report dialogue.

OK, so he did press save (from the Vehicle Details Page), but he had no choice, as he hoped the file would still be created and data not lost, he could hardly press cancel!?

Hope to see this USB thing fixed soon.

Thanks
