Saab 9-3 Non start xenon failure also

Post by BenFinland »

Xenons not illuminating and non start.

Checked ECM 4 live supplies, 2 good 2 dead. Traced back to underbonnect electronic fusebox. Ran 2 lives car starts as ecm now energises main relays.

Xenon issue also caused by only 6 volts coming from said fusebox. Opened fusebox up and found burn transistor inside.

Fitted replacement from a used Saab from a Swedish breakers. All ok starts but xenons still dead. Checked earths to lamps found mega resistance, ran new earths xenons now work , job done so I thought!

With engine running found xenons strobing and cutting out. Went into new fuse box with Delphi software and found is a fusebox from a halogen lamped vehicle and also old chassis number stored.

Tried to get into unit with Abrites software and rs232 cable but can only use GM stuff on Abrites so of no avail.

Went to a saab dealer for reprogramming and ok now.
