ps7 performance

Post by tintoverano »

hi,

this is more of generic interest and observations

I have an 8-core i9 32GB RAM 1TB SSD laptop (macbook pro 2019)

I used pico sw on MacOS (got bootcamp as well, so will do the same on W11) acquiring a 4 channel cam-crank capture: ckp, 2 cmp, primary ign voltage - sample rate, buffer size was set to normal

when time base was set to 10 secs, the capture was struggling to re/start for a couples of secs and thought pico sw (latest early) crashed as there was nothing happening

I had not time to play around with settings, but expected better performance though, based with the hw I got

thanks

Hello and thank you for the post

Can you reproduce the crash?

If so would you have a crash report I can review with the software team?

The Windows laptop I am using does not have the mighty specifications you describe from your MacBook Pro yet the PS7 performance is fine

For this reason a crash report would be most helpful

Forgive my lack of Mac OS knowledge but if you can present a "performance report" during the lagging operation that would be useful too

I.e. something similar to Windows Task Manager (See below)

I hope this helps, take care.....Steve

hi Steve,

there was no crash, I just thought there was a crash b/c it was so slow to update the capture on the screen

thanks!
