I think I ruined my 4425a! :(

Post by Julius Nolin »

Hi, I was thinking of testing a "Multi-coil-on-plug secondary ignition (4 cylinder test)".
* I followed the inscriptions in picoscope 7.
* I only had it on 2 cylinders as I have advance kit 4 channel scope.
* I turned off channels c and d before the test

when everything was ready and set up I would start the program but nothing happened. I restarted the program but did not get better. when i pulled out the usb3 cable and then plugged it in again do not dissolve the oscilloscope. the little red light is on and the computer senses that something is plugged into usb3. is there anything I can do or should I listen to sad music when I drive home today?

Hi Julius,

No need to panic and start playing the sad music!

It's very hard to break this scope believe me. It sounds like the PC is recognising that the scope is connected but it sounds like the software is not happy with something.

To better support you can I ask you to email in to support@picotech.com and we can pick it up from there.

Kind regards

Ben

Hi, sorry for late feedback.

I played some sad music for 5 minutes and then it became happy music again.
came up with that maybe what some software in the computer was haunting. checked the next day at work and restored the computer 1 week back. then it worked as it should.

thanks for the nice message and have a rewarding day. :)
