Renault Master Crank/cam Scopes

Post by Baldwintech1968 »

Hi vehicle is a Renault master 2014 engine code M9T870 . Has had a engine rebuild at another garage and cant rectify fault code DF026 engine speed sensor circuit. Fault clears but returns as soon as engine started. Have scoped crank/cam correlation and am thinking suspect damaged crankshaft position ring gear teeth damage causing fault. Anyone got a good known trace of one of these. Thanks Nigel

Hi Nigel,

I would not worry too much about correlation initially as you clearly have a non standard CKP signal.

First job for me would be to get a borescope into the CKP sensor orifice and see if you can see the cause of the erroneous signal. If you cannot rectify it with "keyhole surgery" someone has got some spannering to do to get to the damaged part!

Kev.

Update, managed to get through crank sensor hole and "tweak" reluctor wheel teeth as best possible back in line afetr several attempts.Scope reading still slightly out but fault codes gone and engine runs ok..
