So just order the 4425a standard kit. And added the NVH add on kit. I am so excited. This is a lifelong dream. I took automechanics class in high school. And I remember the big sun scope. Wanted to learn how to use it. But my instructor did not believe it was that valuable. Needless to say I never learned how to use it. I left the mechanic world over 20 years ago. But diagnostics has been my passion. I was a US Marine for 8 years and paramedic for 8 years and now I specialize in troubleshooting enterprise computer systems and networks. But my passion for car diagnostics has only increased as new and more complex cars have come around. Can't wait to try nvh on everything from a server hard drive to a Porsche. I already have 3 cars lined up that potentially have head gasket issues.
Can't wait to play.

Scope has shipped and should arrive tomorrow. NVH standard kit should arrive on Friday. Can't wait for the weekend. Trying to decide what tests I do first. Thinking about starting with Pico diagnostics. I have an old 1992 ford F150 I just picked up. And want to validate compression, And battery so think that will be a good start. Also know there is some carbon on the distributor so going to do a Secondary ignition test to see if I can see it before I replace the cap. Also think I have a couple of bad wires so going to try that as well.
And going to do NVH on it just because it has a lot of Creeks and clunks, and vibrations I think it would be fun to see. Any other suggestions?

Hello and welcome to the forum

I can almost feel the excitement within from the way you have written these posts

First of all, thank you for your purchase and please feel free to post and share your experiences as you go

What I would say is take it one step at a time. There is so much to digest and so many opportunities to take/make a measurement error

With that said, I guess this is part of the learning process and we are here to support.

Below you will find a number of useful links for the tasks you have mentioned:
