For a coil circuit I agree you would get a DTC however not always if the circuit is good from the pcm to the coils , double check the pcm powers and grounds if ok replace it
I will do that.
Im going for a holiday today and be back after a few weeks, then im going to double check everything, I will tell you then what I did with the car. Thanks a lot so far!
Can you please elaborate. I have the same problem. Bottom end rebuilt and now no spark or fuel on cylinders 1 and 3. Cylinder 2 is fine. Starts and cuts out as cannot run on one cylinder. Engine was timed using locking tools. Any help will, be appreciated as I'm now pulling out m hair in frustration!
Retimed engine again today. Crank pulley locator is damaged on the timing cover. I locked it as close as I can to the centre and the same problem persists!! Any help would be appreciated.
Change the timing cover if you can't pin the tone ring in position you won't ever be able to ensure the electrical timing and valve timing match , also for ease as the crank pulley can creep when torquing up with the torque multiplier fit the steel shim on the front of the crankshaft gear .
