TA204 COP probe scale setting preference

Post by owense1 »

This is a waveform with the COP probe. Once scale is taken with mV scale of about 500mv to 100mV. Much more detail and my preference now. Another waveform is kV which is kind of fuzzy and with a filter it looks unrecognizable from an Ignition waveform. I did have the scaling different for each at the lower corners but I like the top which is mV. The COP probe setting sets it up for you but its not a great looking signal in my opinion.
This is taken on the same vehicle, same coil, same conditions only 5 min apart and by the same person. Discuss amongst yourselves...

For what one would try to achieve using cop probe, I see no problems with any of the waveforms.

Better looking signal, well done, scope and probe seem capable.

I think in the pursuit of knowledge and all that stuff it is more appropriate that you postulate your theory in order to stimulate a discussion.

its a talking point killer. I was showing the difference, not asking for an explanation. I am aware of why it is different if you read my whole post.
