Renault Laguna non starter

Post by llongwr »

A non starting 2005 Renault Laguna 1.9 diesel presented with handbrake on and steering locked. I found a burnt wire in the drivers door and a burnt out door lock module, I have replaced both and managed to release the handbrake but had to drill the steering column lock to get the car into the garage. The 16 pin diagnostic socket gives no information to scan tools except to say there is an earth on high can. Any ideas anyone.

Sounds like you have an earth shorted to live on can bus, try a multimeter or scope on pins 6 and 14 on dlc and see what ohms you have on the circuit there is 2 resistors on each end.
