Hi All.

This is image of the WOT test - gamma for those who would like to refer to it.

IMPORTANT

I note that it does not show the right hand red ruler line.If you right click on the image and the select open image in new tab
and then choose the newly opened tab at the top, you will see all of the image.

Hi,

The following are the figures requested when using the scanner at different revs. The car was at normal temperature.

I have given a few of the readings of SHRTFT1%.

SHRTFT 1%-----------------------------------------------------LONGFT1%

IDLE. 7.8. -1.6 3.9 14.8 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~. -57(minus)

2K. -26 -18.8 -21.1 -14.1~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ -14.8(minus)

3K. 25.8 11.7 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~. -27.3(minus)

4K. 11.7 19.5 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ -50.8(minus)

BACK TO 0.8 -7 3.1.-7 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~. -100(minus)
IDLE

Update

@. Fuel Pressure is 3.6 bar and does not fluctuate under throttle

@. Can find no problem or leaks on exhaust

@. Have swapped lambda sensors over since they are the same type and am monitoring.

@. Long term trims appear negative although short term trims seem largely positive when viewed from the scanner.
Doesn't a negative long term trim mean that the baseline pulse width should be made smaller to make the system leaner ?

What do you think ?

Hi Dave

The fuel pressure at 3.6 bar sounds good.

Do you still have the P0170 trouble code ?

Did you also check the function of the fuel pressure regulator ?

Have you measured the pulse width on the fuel injectors with your picoscope ?

The LTFT affects the basic fuel duration of injectors and when the LTFT are negative it subtract x number of milliseconds from the base injection width.

You should look at areas that make the engine runs on a rich mixture.

Hi Kim,

Thanks for your reply

The fuel pressure at 3.6 bar sounds good.
Yes I think it is to spec

Do you still have the P0170 trouble code ?
No not at the moment- Have scanner connected waiting to be triggered by event - Am logging numbers at my journeys endj

Did you also check the function of the fuel pressure regulator ?
Only from the point of view of snapping the throttle and observing - should I do more ?

Have you measured the pulse width on the fuel injectors with your picoscope ?
I had decided to measure lambda and pulse width - to see what was happening

The LTFT affects the basic fuel duration of injectors and when the LTFT are negative it subtract x number of milliseconds from the base injection width.
You have confirmed what I thought

You should look at areas that make the engine runs on a rich mixture.
Shall redo smoke test

Will keep you informed, and thank you it helps.

Dave
