TDCI leak back test

Post by LEGACY7770 »

Hello All Did a Leak Off Test On A 2004 Transit 2.0 TDCI Today. Owner Said That Under Hard Acceleration That The Engine Will Cut Out Or Switch To Limp Mode.
Went For A Test Drive And Sure Enough 5th Gear 3000RPM Engine Dies Or Goes Into Limp.
Leak Off Test Showed All Injectors 25Ml After 2 Mins At 3000 RPMs Looks High To Me?????
What Do You Think The Normal Leak Back Is???

Never concern myself too much with the actual volume, providing its not through the roof. Sure its not the usual VGT issue?

Hi Guys Codes Are --

P1211

P0380

P0191

P0251

Thought it was the usual TDCI thing low pressure under load cutting the engine.

just thought it's loseing pressure from the injectors.

it's had a new drv value on the back of the pump
New ford fuel filter
Scoped everything in sight all ok
leak back test all 25ml 2 Mins at 3000rpm

Hello robski.

When i do a pump proof test will i need to undo the injector wiring ?

if i connect my scope to the FRS at the same time as i do the test i can see if the valve on the pump is holding pressure ? Say on a 30sec screen ?
1050Bar after 5 second crank time is this right ?
And i have a maxidas and a launch i used my x431 on the transit in question.

Thanks for the help so far mate steve

Post the capture, that's too long for my liking, it should hit a high pressure (voltage) in less time than that.
Desired FRP & actual at time of fault ?
This question still stands....... :?:

Hi mate . FRP at time of fault was 132600kpa thats 1326bar FRP volatge was 1.01v?? but may have missed the max on this . will do a pump proof test autodata says 2v at 3000rpm so when i do the test i will look for 2v or above and holding. dont have a pico yet i have a vantage pro so no screen shots. what controls the imv mate the map / maf/ egr position as the egr value was stuck closed freed off the best i can but still 100% better no smoke whatsoever. the van drives all day sweet as a nut until you put your foot down in 4th 5th gear then it cuts out restarts right away. done the leak off 3000rpm for 2 mins 25ml in each pot.

This question still stands....... :?:
