1.4.28 build 21

Post by mapengo »

Hi,

Have just downloaded the latest version of picoscope automotive and the picodiag software does not seem to be working?

I am not getting an rpm detected no matter which car I try it on.

I have the latest Java and Flash player installed and am running Vista.

I have the 3423 scope.

Any ideas? Have uninstalled, downloaded and re-installed but no change.

Cheers

I have the same problem. No mater what I try I can not get the Pico Diagnostics to work. I've tried on three seperate vehicles and cable setups. No good. Is there something wrong with this version? t.i.a.

Hi Guys

Ive taken a look at this and I agree there is a problem with Pico Diagnostics with the 3000 Series Oscilloscope. Its been reported to the software engineers and they are looking into this.

Please keep checking the Software download page for a new release and check the release notes.

In the mean time you can download version R6.5.80 from the Archive on the following link in which I have tested this version and it works fine:-

http://www.picoauto.com/software-archive.html

I hope this helps for now and as soon as this is fixed il post on this thread to let you guys know.

Kind Regards

Lee,

We have had this conversation many times but I have to say it again here.

The PicoScope and the Pico Diagnostics installers need to divorce.

We should not have to choose to have an inferior PicoScope build to get a functional Pico Diagnostics. They need to be separate installers, like they used to be, so we can choose the versions that work best for us. Then we could have the latest PicoScope which works well with lots of cool new features AND and older version of Pico Diagnostics that works.

Or in the next release there may be something we don't like about the PicoScope build but have a good Pico Diagnostics. Then again we have to choose which one we want broken. It's been this way for some time now and many of us are getting somewhat frustrated.

So....let's just separate the installers so we can choose the best of both worlds.

Great idea to separate the 2 programs, as long as we can’t have a set that actually works as it should.

Don’t remember seeing so many broken software updates before anywhere else. :(

But then again, I enjoy all the new features (when they work) and see my Pico getting better and better. :D

Cheers Daniel

Hi All

Just to let you know we have just released a new software build for PicoScope Automotive R6.6.15. It has a list of bug fixes in which the Pico Diagnostics 3000 issue is one of them:-

Pico Diagnostics
• PS3000s not working in cylinder balance

You can download this for FREE from the following link:-

Lee,

But that PicoScope build is broken. The zoom feature is so badly broken as to make this PicoScope 6.6.15.2 not very useful. :(

The problem is obvious in block mode captures.

I still don't recall a PicoScope release since 6.4.95 that had both a functioning Pico Diagnostics AND PicoScope together.

What would it take to get a divorce? Who gets the kids? :?
