Incorrect indications the compression test

Postby taho » Thu Jul 28, 2011 1:09 am

Car Nonda CR-V gasoline 2.0 2006 years. The test of a compression with sensor WPS-500. Unreal results of pressure, thus the test of a compression without gauge WPS-500 turn out gives normal evidences of a relative compression pic.2. A question of a correctness and stability of results of tests?
Also there is a question c a choice of parametres in the test of balance of cylinders for example fuel type (strongly influences results), and also applicability of tests to truck to cars with diesel engines

Dear Taho

By looking at the results it looks as though its a problem with the set up of the WPS500.

Are you using the correct Pico Technology Compression Hose?

Within the Software is a 'Options...' Tab. This will bring up the 'Compression Test Options' dialog box. You will see within this box there is a tick box which is called 'Compensation'.

This needs to be enabled as this allows the software to know that the Pico Compression Hose has been used and it will therefore be able to compensate for the volume created by using the Hose ensuring that the results are accurate and correct.

Its also important that the correct Compression Ratio is entered and the correct Cylinder Volume as this too will ensure the software can calculated the results correctly and give you the correct figures.

I hope this helps to answer your question.

Kind Regards

Thanks for the answer. Unfortunately, that you advise has been made before writing the pregoing message. Moreover, I have tested different variants of options within the normal logic and at little change of results have received as close to resulted incorrect results. Probably problem somewhere in other place. For example in the software. For the test the hose of compression TA088 was used

Throughout a theme: compression gauging on the same car with last beta versions Picodiagnotics (in this time on service adjustment of valves is executed)
