Hello
Need a good waveform from cam - crank from a Renault Clio 3 cyl. 898ccm, 66kW, H4B 408 engine, from 2016
Car has error P0011 Camshaft Position - Timing Over-Advanced or System Performance Bank 1
There are no other option without removing the chain to check if timing is OK.
Car runs terible and sometime goes off
Most of times P0011 fault code is set for INT valve timing control solenoid performance outside expected range. So, remove and check VVT solenoid for sludge/deposit and free movement. Remove camshafts cover and check if the INT camshaft is locked in INT dephaser. If this camshaft moves freely back and forth, the dephaser is faulty. I would also flush the engine and replace oil+ filter. Then check oil supply to VVT solenoid and oil pressure. Could you post FFD when P0011 is set? When is the fault code set? At start, on idle or under the load? For crank-cam correlation(timing issue), ECM sets P0016.
It would be very useful in cylinder pressure waveform if you have a proper pressure transducer.
Have done an oil change and check the VVT solenoid, no sludge/deposit. But only 0,2 Ohm resistor.
But now i have the error 001178 CAMSHAFT PHASE CONTROLLER, camshaft shifter position error. After clearing the error and starting the engine, the error immediately returns.
When I activate the VVT it clicks
But in diagnostic i have solenoid valve programming not performed, hopw can i perform this, do i need the original tester ?
We need the FFD data when P0011 is set. Do you have any PWM signal from ECM to VVT actuator when starting and running at idle? Connect the oscilloscope to solenoid , CKP and CMP . Start the capture just before to crank the engine. Post the pasdata file. Test with VVT actuator disconnected. If fault code still there, remove the head cover and check if INT camshaft it is locked in dephaser and does not move freely.
Have not saved the FFD with P0011 and this error does not come anymore.
Tried yesterday to save a caputure with the PWM signal, but yesterday i have on both lines 12V. Tought this is because the error are stored
In your picture, green ist the PVM from the VVT, and this is a waveform from the same engine? Then my timing is not right
Green line is from ignition coil 1 control signal from ECM. It is normal to have 12V on both VVT actuator pins when ECM does not control it. You will have a zero volt line till ECM grounds one pin. Then you will see a 12V square waveform signal.Post the FFD data for the fault code you have now. Scope CKP, CMP and VVT signal from both actuator pins. Start the capture just before to crank the engine. In cylinder pressure waveform.
ECM does not send PWM signal when cranking and on idle. Just above the 1200-1500rpm and any time under the load. If you start and let the engine on idle, without any rev up, does the code P0011 set?
