Cylinder pressure

Post by RS-4 »

Hello society
I have a VW Amarok 2018 with a 3.0 V6 TDI engine (DDXB) that has an unstable idle and as far as I can see misfires on the cylinder nr.2.
There are no errors in the engine computer. I am confused by the fact that the pressure in the second cylinder varies, i.e. 80% is weak but 20% is relatively ok. Previous garage installed new valve lifters and new injector on cyl.nr.:2.
Based on the video, can someone help me with the analysis waveform? My next step is to remove the cylinder head... Is that ok?
Thanks in advanced
Regards

That is strange !

The low compression on that cylinder is not constant. I would not be in a hurry to take the cylinder head off just yet.

My thoughts are Valve Lifters or a Sticky Valve would cause that. I would use a Pressure Transducer (WPS 500) In the Cylinder and at the Dipstick at this stage to get a good idea of what is going on and why ?
