Guided compression test waveform

Post by Mitchroberson »

As I prep for my new picoscope to arrive. I have been reviewing the guided tests. And the wave form on the in cylinder compression tests. Says it is good. But I am not seeing what I thought I should see for intake and exhaust. It looks kind of flat. Between compression strokes. What am I missing

Are you looking at cranking or dynamic waveforms?

They are very different.

I am looking at Pressure transducers\In cylinder pressure during Cranking (gasoline). I thought cranking would be way more defined. And I may be missing something when you say dynamic. as I am not sure the difference between the 2. So obviously I have a lot to learn.
Thanks for the reply.
Just checked Shipping scope should be here tomorrow. And NVH add on kit should be here on Friday. This is going to be a fun weekend.

Thanks picokev much appreciated for the clarification. Hopefully my statement above made sense it should be a cranking wave form but I did not take it and was simply trying to learn from the guided tests while I wait for My scope.
