Battery Warning Light 2011 Renault Twingo

Post by georgeagombar »

Hi,

I bought a Renault Twingo a couple of weeks ago. Recently, it has had a battery warning light paired with a stop light coming on about 30 secs after starting up the car.

I have checked the voltage of the battery (it's around 12V when engine is off and 14V when it is on (which I believe is the right values)) and the car seems to be driving absolutely fine.

I'm not too sure why this light is coming on as I don't think that it can be a problem with the alternator if the battery is ok.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I should do?

Put the oscilloscope on the battery, ac coupling, +/- 5V range or so, low time per division, ac coupling so we see what the diodes are doing.
