2204a rpm maths channels issues

Post by scrollragger1 »

Finally acquired a pico,just a 2204a not got a big budget.
Im trying to use frequency on a maths channel,to pin down misfire issues, but getting results i didn't expect.
The graphed frequency, isnt producing acceleration and decelaration curves or information just spikes, not telling me a great deal.
Computer wise i have Windows 10, 4gb of memory,2.10 dual core processor.
Im using freq (a) as the equation.
Are there settings that need tweaking,or is it the unit itself thats at fault.
Some screen shots,of the results.
The red trace is the result i was expecting giving acc and decel information. Cheers ian

Post your file for analysis. No one can do that from a jpeg!

I can't see much wrong, except that sampling rate seems low. Crank function gives a smoother graph. There seems to be little variance in frequency changes. Is this with a running engine? Try to disable start and crank the engine then. Up the sampling rate to maximum.

Yes engine running at idle speed.
Ill try what you suggested, certainly the appearance of the frequency graphing wasnt what i expected, but im still getting my hands dirty
