Ta325 on ev circuits

Post by Burt_100 »

I have an ta325 that I want to use to view the phases on an electric vehicle motor, I have it fitted around 3 of the wires and I can get a signal, It is very noisy can any one suggest a good timebase/ setup for the probe as the automotive software doesn't have the option.
Thanks

If you mean an amp clamp around 3 phases?

Curious how the waveform looks like. 0
Amps?

Timebase and ms to your wishes?

Hello and thank you for the posts

The TA325 can be found here https://www.picotech.com/accessories/cu ... -probe-bnc on our Test & Measurement website

Could you ensure each coil was placed around each phase? (i.e., there was no cross-over of one of the clamp flex coils to adjacent phases)

Could you post your psdata file as this will assist with evaluating the noise?

A typical example waveform can be seen here viewtopic.php?p=98731#p98731 (see the psdata file “Pulling away with math”)

I hope this helps, take care….Steve
