Labelling a reference waveform

Post by kicksbutt »

Hello all just wondering I have a few wave forms that I have combined into one scope capture. I am wanting to label the reference wave form that I inserted in the capture. That way for documentation and presentation purposes everything is labeled out. I can not find a way to do that. So it most likely can not be done BUT if there is a way can someone help me out? I attached a file of what I would like to do. The grey channel is the one I would liked labeled. Please and thanks in advance.

That version is PS6. PS7 has a vehicle details button as before to enter data but also has a Notes facility at the bottom of the scope where you entered firing order. However I see where you are coming from so unless I'm missing something that facility from PS6 does not look like its been carried over to PS7.

There is however a feedback button on the software to advise them of your concerns.

If you are the same kicksbutt from Autonerdz group,

You will find PS7 Beta version changes in the Nerdz Picogroup forum "PicoScope Software," thread "Pico 7."
See reply 62 by Brian Haley on 9/2/20 in that thread.

Hello and thank you for the post

Unfortunately, other than adding “Notes” to label and describe your reference waveform, PS6 will require multiple clicks to reveal information about the reference waveform

Alternatively, the Right Click feature (within the graph) might help

With that said, this is a real nuisance when training using fixed images (i.e. PowerPoint)

PS7 however has improved this reference waveform labeling feature as any loaded reference waveform will appear under the channel options buttons

Once again, the notes section might also help bring clarity for delegates when presenting

I will add your suggestion for a channel label to be included for reference waveforms and math channels in PS7 along with the option to increase the size and colors of the font within the notes section

I hope this helps and thank you again for the post

Take care……Steve

Thanks Steve

That would be super useful on both counts the labels and more colors.
